Veneered display cabinet in mixed woods. France, late 19th century.
Two-door display cabinet, entirely veneered in a herringbone pattern in dark wood, with contrasting string inlays. The shaped cresting is decorated at the centre with a gilt bronze mascaron. Each door is divided into two glazed panels with shaped outlines, framed by chased bronze beading with floral and scroll mounts at the corners. Further bronze mounts decorate the side uprights, the central closing bar, and the base, which ends in a shaped double-scroll profile.
Condition report: Minor losses and small breaks to the bronze mounts. One glass panel broken.
