Oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right: “P. Daudenarde 1919”.
The painting depicts a vase of yellow and pink roses placed on a marble balustrade, with a wooded park in the background. The composition belongs to the French academic tradition of floral still life painting from the late nineteenth century, with careful attention to light and colour typical of the period. The name Daudenarde appears in Belgian and French decorative painting between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
