Description
A panconé desk veneered in walnut. Italy, first half of the 19th century.
Fully veneered in walnut, raised on turned bun feet. The front features seven drawers arranged on three registers: the upper register presents three drawers with a central pull-out writing slide; the lower registers house deeper drawers set within two lateral pedestals flanking an open kneehole. The corner stiles are moulded. Original oxidised metal locks are preserved. The top has a shaped moulded border.
Condition report: Good overall state of preservation, with signs of use and ageing consistent with the period. A conservative restoration is recommended.
