Exceptional pair of chests of drawers in lacquered and polychrome painted wood, masterpieces of 18th-century Sicilian cabinetmaking. These pieces represent the pinnacle of the island’s decorative tradition, characterized by a chromatic and ornamental exuberance that reflects Spanish and Bourbon influences, and a Rococo style filtered through a Mediterranean sensibility.
Golden relief decorations on a vermilion background frame irregular scrolls decorated with polychrome floral arrangements. The top is painted to resemble a veined marble. The curved front features three drawers, resting on elegant cabriole legs with stag-hoof feet.
