Description
Carved, veneered, and inlaid wood armchair. Italy, 17th-18th century.
A throne-type armchair in carved and veneered wood, with an imposing structure and tall back. The surface is entirely faced with dark wood veneer and features a central inlay depicting a cross within a sacerdotal coat of arms, suggesting an ecclesiastical or ceremonial provenance. The seat is upholstered and covered in floral-patterned velvet. The profile of the back and armrests is articulated with quality carved decoration.
Condition report: Overall good state of preservation, with normal signs of age. The velvet upholstery shows wear.
