The unmistakable Byzantine domes and bell towers of the Basilica emerge clearly in the background, framed within a landscape composition alternating tree masses and urban architecture. To the right stands Porta Liviana, a medieval defensive tower once part of the city&#8217;s wall system. The foreground is animated by figures of peasants engaged in agricultural work, a donkey-drawn cart, and a group of children with a dog \u2014 staffage figures recalling the vedutistic repertoire of the Veneto region in the 18th-century tradition.
