In the foreground, along the shore, groups of popular figures animate the scene, fishermen, travellers, a laden donkey, while to the left sails and boats cross the calm waters. The figures, handled with ease and vitality, recall the Venetian tradition of the animated landscape of the early eighteenth century, with stylistic affinities attributable to Simonini in the typology of the figures and the construction of space through receding planes toward a luminous background.<\/p>\n<p>Condition report: Lined canvas.
