To the left, two figures of sailors animate the scene on the hull&#8217;s edge. In the background, a calm and luminous expanse of water with further sailing vessels in the distance, rendered in synthetic touches, conveys the breadth of the lagoon on a windy day. The brushwork is fluid and constructive, with dense impasto on the sails and a vibrant rendering of the water&#8217;s reflections, fully consistent with the Venetian en plein air painting of the early twentieth century.
