Description
Pair of corner cabinets in carved, lacquered, and painted wood. Piedmont, 18th century.
Provenance: formerly in the collection “Accorsi Ometto Antichità – Via Po 55 Torino”, as confirmed by the original labels preserved inside.
A pair of triangular corner cabinets in carved wood, lacquered with gilded mouldings and profiles. The upper section features a shaped cabinet door with a gilded frame, decorated with floral motifs, flowering branches and leaves, on a cream ground. The lateral panels repeat the same scheme of pendant floral sprays. The cornice is moulded and gilded, centred by a carved and fully gilded rosette medallion with scrolls. The interior of each door is lacquered in yellow and fitted with three graduated shelves. The lower section consists of a triangular console with a small drawer decorated with floral motifs, raised on cabriole legs with gilded profiles.
Condition report: Good general state of conservation, with natural signs of aging to the lacquer and polychromy.
