Description
Pair of Venetian carved walnut armchairs. Venice, 18th century.
The two armchairs, datable to the fourth decade of the 18th century, are made of carved walnut in the Venetian Rococo taste of the period.
The structure features a shaped back with a shell-carved crest rail, upholstered shaped armrests, and a generous seat on cabriole legs. The carving, distributed on the crest rail, seat rails, and legs, reflects the refined cabinetmaking production of the Venetian lagoon of the period.
Condition report: Good general condition of the wooden structure. Later upholstery.
