Cassetta gilded wood frame. Tuscany, 17th century.
Gilded wood throughout.
The frame is of cassetta type, with a profile articulated across plain mouldings without carved decoration. The structure, simple and well proportioned, is entirely gilded over a preparation ground. The gilding has developed a warm and uniform patina consistent with the age of the piece.
Condition report: Generally good state of preservation. Minor losses to the gilding and wear are present, consistent with the age of the piece.
