Description
Notary’s desk veneered in walnut and trimmed with rosewood – Venice, third quarter of the 18th century.
A writing desk of notarial type, entirely veneered in herringbone walnut with bois de rose stringing delineating the panels of the top and front. The shaped apron is fitted with three drawers — two lateral and one larger central — flanked by a sliding pull. The double-wing cast bronze handles are consistent with Venetian production of the third quarter of the 18th century. The slender cabriole legs terminate in a pointed foot, in keeping with the Rococo taste of the Veneto region.
Condition report: Generally good condition. Minor signs of use on the top surface.
